GRID's Toxic-Free Tuesday: Nature’s Pharmacy-part 2

Can herbs assist you in your recovery when antibiotics fall short? The answer to that question can be found in the question what were ancestors doing before modern day pharmacies? Shifting your thought process, will assist you in understanding today's post and the mission of GRID Holistic Living.

Before pharmacies, cultures around the world relied on plants, roots, berries, bark, and natural remedies (see Genesis 1:11-14) to help the body fight infection, reduce inflammation, and support healing. Today, science is beginning to revisit many of these ancient practices as concerns grow about antibiotic resistance and overreliance on synthetic medications. For generations, herbs were humanity’s original medicine cabinet.

Modern medicine has saved countless lives, and antibiotics remain critically important in serious bacterial infections. However, research continues to warn that antibiotic resistance is increasing globally. Certain bacteria are adapting, mutating, and becoming harder to treat. At the same time, many people are becoming more interested in holistic wellness practices that support the body naturally and strengthen overall immunity before illness takes hold. At GRID Holistic Living, we believe knowledge and prevention matter. Herbs are not magic cures, nor should they replace emergency medical care when needed. But many herbs contain naturally occurring compounds that may help support the immune system, discourage microbial overgrowth, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.

This Toxic-Free Tuesday, let us explore why herbs matter. Many medicinal herbs contain the following ingredients: 1-Antimicrobial compounds, 2- Antiviral properties, 3-Anti-inflammatory agents, 4- Antioxidants, and 5-Immune-supportive nutrients. Unlike synthetic antibiotics, many herbs work more gently and holistically by helping support the body’s natural defense systems. Herbs broken down are effective when we consume as: 1-Teas, 2-Tinctures, 3-Syrups, 4- Capsules, 5-Infusions, 6-Oils. 7-Poultices, 8-Broths, 9- Fermented preparations, and 10- Steam inhalations These top ten methods of breaking down herbs can heal and cure a lot of today's ills. It's about consistency, preparation, integrity of how it is processed, and overall quality.

Final Thoughts
Herbs were created as foods as well as for medicine. If we consider the life span of our ancestors, we should all ponder about what went wrong. In addition; to our original sin in the garden, modern day conveniences, certainly did not allow for greater nutrients. Rather the quality of our foods are compromised whether for business or for other more devious agendas. For centuries, herbs helped communities survive long before pharmacies existed. At GRID Holistic Living, we believe prevention, nourishment, education, and mindful living are essential parts of whole-person wellness. We are asking that you join us on our mission to live Whole Health, Whole Life, Whole YOU!
Spiritual Food for Thought

Sometimes the strongest medicine begins in the kitchen, the garden, and the choices we make daily.
